How to Attend a Conference Like a Pro

I recently attended #PeriCON16 here in Atlanta, GA. PeriCON was created by @jaistone and is an event for lean startup entrepreneurs who want to “rev up their revenue, score high-paying clients, and cha-cha into the second half of the year with a get-your-butt-in-gear plan sure to turn passion into profit.”

I met lots of great entrepreneurs and gathered some powerful takeaways that I will be incorporating into my #trep life. Being in the middle of all that super networking and business info led me to put together my list of How to Attend a Conference Like a Pro series, and I will be using these tips for all future conferences I attend.

Here is Tip #1:

Share Your Experiences in Real Time. Many of your followers would enjoy participating  vicariously with you in your events. Share photos as you take them and quote the key points you pick up from your sessions. Let others see who is there, how much fun everyone is having, and what you are learning. Not only will they enjoy it, they will also share your content.

Do you have your own special routines and rituals that you use when attending conferences? If you do, please share. I’d love to add more to my list.

Use the App.  If the event you are attending has an app, download it! It will save you so much time. Many event apps allow you to pre-plan your schedule, notate other attendees you know or want to meet, and will send you an alert before your next session begins. I don’t know about anyone else, but I always misplace my program before the first day is over so having an app is a lifesaver.

P.S. Don’t fret if you missed #PeriCon16. Yeah it was all that and more! But it will be back again next year as #CatapultME17, and it promises to be even greater than PeriCon, which was beyond amazing!
